We are a family-owned and operated Polynesian dance studio and performance group. We are under the direction of Kumu Hula and Miss Aloha Hula Kau'i Dalire-Boyd.
Our name Halau NaPualani Kuikanani translates to the school of heavenly flowers standing in beauty. We are a family owned and operated Polynesian Dance Studio and performance group based in Durham, North Carolina. Our goal is to work to preserve polynesian culture. Our Kumu Hula (Hawaiian master teacher of hula) is Kau'i Dalire-Boyd, Kumu of the worldwide Kuikanani Association. She is part of the 8th generation of Kumu Hula of the Dalire ohana (family). All serious students of any age, size, and ethnicity are welcome to join us and learn dance, culture, language, and history with us.
We welcome opportunities to perform our Polynesian dances (hula, Tahitian, Samoan) to help educate the public about our Pacific Islander culture. Along with performing authentic dances accompanied by music in native language, we share aloha spirit by bringing the spectators in as participants to teach them simple dance steps. The educational aspect of our dance practice is a part of our mission.
